The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on Sunday mentioned he would take the President, Main Common Muhammad Buhari (retd.), to courtroom if he insisted on grazing reserve.
Ortom had on Friday criticised the Buhari over his insistence to revive the grazing reserve regardless of huge opposition in opposition to it.
The governor on Sunday insisted that the Structure of the Federal Republic of Nigeria outdated the Northern Nigeria Legislation that offered for grazing reserves.
Ortom mentioned the state authorities wouldn’t settle for the grazing reserve coverage.
When requested what step would he take if the President insisted on going forward, Ortom mentioned, “Already, I’ve briefed my attorneys to start out the method. I will problem it in courtroom and I imagine I’ll get judgment.
“The reality is that if the whole nation had accepted ranching; then why is Mr President insisting on open grazing when there isn’t any land for such.
“Within the 50s when this coverage was initiated, what was the inhabitants of Nigeria; it was much less that 40 million. Right now we’re greater than 200 million. The 923 sq. kilometres shouldn’t be even sufficient to cater for the inhabitants. The rationale Mr President is insisting; to a few of us there’s a hidden agenda.
“Mr President has aides; the Legal professional Common of the Federation, (Ababakar) Mallami , SAN, and different attorneys round him ought to advise him. Underneath my watch, the state is not going to settle for open grazing.”
