FRSC blames dashing as 5 killed in Lagos-Ibadan freeway crash

5 individuals misplaced their lives and 4 others sustained accidents on Thursday  in an accident involving a Toyota Hiace bus and a Scania truck at Ayetoro group, Ogun State finish of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The Ogun State Sector Commander of the Federal Highway Security Corps, Ahmed Umar, who confirmed the incident on Thursday, mentioned the Toyota Hiace was marked SPR 373 XA, whereas the truck had the quantity plate, GGE 468 XX.

Umar famous that the crash was attributable to dashing and harmful driving, including that the bus driver rammed into the transferring truck.

In line with him, the crash, which occurred round 9.20am, claimed 5 lives, whereas 4 individuals had been injured.

The FRSC boss mentioned the injured victims had been taken to the Idera Hospital, Sagamu, for remedy, whereas the deceased individuals had been deposited within the mortuary of the identical hospital.

Umar mentioned the crash was avoidable and suggested motorists to keep away from dashing and harmful driving, particularly through the wet season, and likewise obey visitors guidelines and laws.

Additionally confirming the incident, a spokesperson for the Site visitors Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, mentioned 5 individuals died and three sustained accidents.

Akinbiyi mentioned an eyewitness acknowledged that the Toyota bus steering was locked on movement when the motive force was about to keep away from a damaged down truck on the freeway, and within the course of rammed into the Scania truck.
