Bomadi, in Bomadi Native Authorities Space of Delta State, mourns as seven girls from the neighborhood, who died in a ghastly auto crash final Saturday whereas getting back from a relative’s marriage ceremony ceremony, are billed for burial on Wednesday [today].
A burial handbill issued by the neighborhood for the deceased girls, sighted by journalists in Warri on Tuesday, gave their names as Blessing Akpokabowei, 28; Contemporary Akabolouseigha, 46; Contemporary Aleigiai-Ere, 47; Bridget Teibogiren, 53; Mariana Donbrate, 53; Mary Priscilla Mieyebo, 56; and Rose Aladin-Donbraye, 61.
All the ladies have been stated to be from Agorodei Peile Quarters in Bomadi neighborhood of Delta State, and have been getting back from a marriage outing in Agbor when the Toyota Sienna they have been travelling in somersaulted and plunged into the culvert of a river.
The area bus, with 9 occupants on board, reportedly crashed at about 5:00pm alongside Orogun Highway in Ughelli North Native Authorities Space of the state.
Whereas seven individuals, primarily girls, have been confirmed lifeless on the spot, two different commuters who have been stated to have been rushed to a hospital in Ughelli reportedly survived the crash.
An indigene of Bomadi, Perekeme Bonny, affirmed that the deceased shall be buried on Wednesday.
Bonny said, “It’s an awesome loss in Bomadi city. Seven stunning, vibrant girls lifeless in a motor accident on their means again house from their sister’s bridal ceremony at Agbor.
“All of them have been from Agorodei Peile Quarters, Bomadi Federated City neighborhood.”
