The Division of State Companies has denied arresting two Channels Tv reporters over alleged anti-Buhari feedback made by two company on the stations’ ‘Dawn Each day’ programme.
DSS Spokesman, Peter Afunanya, disclosed this in a press release on Thursday titled, ‘No Channels Tv Reporters Have been Arrested By The DSS’.
Media stories (not by The PUNCH) had it that two presenters of the programme, Chamberlain Usoh and Kayode Okikiolu, have been picked up by the key police after separate interviews with the Benue State Governor, Samule Ortom and a former Navy Commodore, Kunle Olawunmi.
However Afunanya mentioned, “The eye of the DSS has been drawn to information making the rounds in some sections of the media that its operatives earlier at the moment (twenty sixth August, 2021) arrested two (2) journalists of Channels Tv. That is false and deceptive. Pretend information peddlers ought to shun the act.”
