APC clinches Lere federal constituency seat in Kaduna

The Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee has declared Alhaji Ahmed Mannir of the  All Progressives Congress because the winner of  Saturday’s by-election for the Lere Federal Constituency in Kaduna State.

Declaring the lead to Saminaka, the Returning Officer, Prof. Adamu Wada mentioned Mannir scored 34, 958 votes to defeat his closest contender, Mr Ibrahim Usman of the Peoples Democratic Celebration who scored 16, 271 votes.

He mentioned Malam Salihi Abdulkarim of the Younger Progressives Celebration scored 295; Suleiman Lere of the Peoples Redemption Celebration scored 226 votes whereas the  All Progressives Grand Alliance, which didn’t subject any candidate,  garnered  125 votes.

NAN studies that the elections was typically peaceable throughout the constituency.

The by-election into the Lere Federal Constituency was carried out to fill the seat, sequel to the loss of life of the member representing the constituency, Hon. Suleiman Lere, who handed away in April. (NAN)
